Started off with Marching band... lemme tell ya how much I HATED camp. I didn't know anyone and it was really awkward spending almost an entire week without Melanie there for me to talk to. Football games started and people were going around saying that Mel and I were gonna quit. I hate rumors. There is this one particular game that I seem to remember more than I remember the rest. I believe it started out we were going to like Independence in Charlotte or whatever and we stopped to eat and Brittany had been on a different bus than us. She then ended up switching to our bus and we were all jacked up on Starbucks, so that bus ride sparked a whole new friendship.
As this year continued, I've made so many new acquaintances and friendships... from the seniors graduating to the wacky freshman, I know they will always be there. Starting off with first semester, Freshman band was my first period. Somehow, Brittany talked me in to playing piccolo and after like 3264684 months of practice, I think I'm gonna actually enjoy playing it. My second period was just the lovely earth science class where I became friends with Haley, and I wouldn't trade that for the world. She's hilarious and one of the most amazing people I've become close to. Third period, my favorite class, was PE. That class was just the most amazing PE class I have ever had. My PE class was like a family. With Pants on the Ground to Brownies, Coach M and Alli are the two people I'm glad I got to spend that with. Then came Geometry, I hated that class. I just didn't understand it, but it sparked new friends. BHess and I became pretty good friends during that class and Woody would sit there for who knows how long just trying to get my attention for a fist bump. Ahh, the good days.
My second semester starts of with English. Oh my goodness. This class has shown me that it's not so bad learning grammar. I do believe it's one of the greatest classes I will ever have. Ms. Dunn is one of the most amazing teachers I could have gotten for this year. In that class, I've made so many new friends... especially just the people that sit around me. They make life interesting. From then there is Concert Band, I absolutely DESPISE that class. I love music and band, but concert band is just like the bottom of the totem pole. Even though this class is awful, the front row ladies I have become very close with. They are my five bestfriends and I know each of them would be there for me, no matter if we talk every day or not. I love them MORE THAN THE WORLD. From then there is Spanish, I love what I've learned and having Mrs.Holbrook and Mr.Hoyle has really been a great experience. From then I have Civics, I tend to hate this class, but that is just because the subject isn't the greatest. During my normal day, I go visit Ms.Tonya after school. She's one of the greatest people I've ever met. I can tell her anything and I know she'd be there for me in a minute. I love her to death, and her crazy sense of humor makes me giggle.
Lunches this year:
First semester: I ate with the beautiful Macey and I wouldn't trade that for the world. She's helped me get through countless things and she's one of the biggest influences on my life. I love her.
Second semester: I'm not sure a lunch table could have any more people sitting around it. It's pretty much made of seniors, but that lunch time is my time to get away from the world and just talk to the people I've found myself to be just like. I love all of them. :D
During marching season (and still to this day), I tended to spend every waking moment/ weekend with Mel. We are like sisters. We've been so many places and done so many things this past year. I don't know where in the world i'd be with out her. Another person who has made this year unforgettable would be Brittany. I know, I know, I talk about her all the time, but she's really a great person. Everyone is gonna get tired of me saying this, but I wish she was going to be here next year. For someone I was sure I wasn't going to get along with, she's one of the best friends I could ever have. I'm not exactly sure how the whole Brittany not being here is going to work, but I'll have people here to help me get through it.
I've become so close to so many people that are graduating. It breaks my heart to watch all of the people I stand with in the mornings, to just cross that stage and walk away from me forever. I know they aren't gonna forget me, but they're gonna be so occupied that it's gonna be hard to talk to them and tell them what is going on. I'll miss them like crazy. They've meant so much to me this year. :///
Now, as I'm closing this freshman year, I'd like to say it's been one of the most memorable experiences of my life. From marching band to sitting around a lunch table of laughter, it's been a great year and a life changing experience.
